Welcome from Mrs. Parker

Hello Lincoln Families,

Welcome back to a new school year!! I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to
serve our school community as principal of Lincoln Elementary for the 23-24 school year. For
those of you that don’t know, I have worked for the Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan School
District for the past 10 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist and more recently as
Elementary Director of Special Education. I am so proud of the work that has been done by
our staff during this time, including creating a top notch Positive Behavior Interventions and
Supports (PBIS) system, becoming the first Wisconsin Elementary School to be recognized as
a Model Professional Learning Community, and developing a student-centered and
relationships-focused school culture. I am incredibly excited to continue this great work and
invite you all along on our journey.

I’d like to take a moment to highlight some additions to our academic and behavioral
programming for the 23-24 school year. Throughout this past year, our staff worked diligently
to create grade level specific Social Emotional Learning Outcomes which will focus on
self-regulation, growth mindset, and social problem solving. This year, we will begin the work
of developing curriculum and assessments to support student learning around these
outcome areas. We also recently updated our Essential Learning Outcomes in the area of
reading and are looking forward to implementing some new curriculum based on the
Science of Reading research. More information regarding this ongoing work can be found in
the updated Lincoln Elementary Family Handbook on our school website.

As you enjoy the last of your summer activities, please don’t forget to mark your calendars
for our Back to School Open House which will be held on August 24th from 10am-6pm. This is
a great opportunity to meet your new teacher, drop off your school supplies, complete
registration paperwork, and start setting goals for a new school year. School pictures will
once again be taken during our open house, so don’t forget to dress your best and smile
big!

Finally, I’d like to give a shout out to our custodians, cleaners, administrators, and office staff
who have worked tirelessly over the summer months to prepare us for a new school year. We
would not function without their hard work. Thank you also to all of our summer school
teachers and staff, and the students who attended any part of our summer school
programming. We hope you found it to be a valuable and enjoyable experience.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
